A small team of Holden designers secretly set out to turn the VT Commodore into a coupe. Peter Hughes first sketched the idea, and design boss Mike Simcoe developed it further with a tape drawing and a clay model by Arthur Radziszewski.
Simcoe secured backing from incoming CEO Peter Hanenberger, and in 1998 Holden revealed the coupe just before Ford's AU Falcon debut, stealing the spotlight.The reaction was unanimous: the Monaro was back!
In amazing Fusion Metallic paint & Anthracite leather trim, this super clean example features the original pushrod all-American Generation III 5.7-litre V-8, producing 302 bhp at 5200 rpm with the 6 speed manual transmission as it was from factory.
