The VN Commodore saw the return of the SS nameplate not seen without a HDT badge attached since the VH Commodore. At the time, the VN SS was sold at a whisker under the Calais as the most expensive VN Commodore you could buy. Evolving through subsequent generations, the SS added features like independent rear suspension, ABS, a 5.7-litre V8 and even a supercharged V6 option but it was the VN that set the template for the modern SS that followed - right through to the last Aussie VF SS Commodore. 

Rarely offered for sale is this stunning fully restored 1990 VN SS Commodore featuring the 5L V8 and 4 speed MD8 automatic combo. The car was bare metal received a 2 Pac factory Atlas Grey metallic paint in 2023 with NOS New Grey VN SS material retrim to the interior. Door cards, hood lining and carpet have also been renewed with the original dash, gauges and steering wheel in their place. 

Featuring the all matching numbers 5.0-litre 165 kW (221hp) fuel injected V8 engine, MD8 4 speed automatic transmission, Limited Slip Differential, Driving lights, FE2 sports suspension, Body kit including front & rear bumper lip, side skirts, boot lip spoiler, SS decals and striping and SS interior fabrics incorporating a grey/red checker design.

Mechanically the engine has been fully rebuilt with a mild cam, Pacemaker extractors with a sports exhaust. The gearbox and diff were also rebuilt at the same time with only 50 klms covered since the rebuild. The undercarriage has had a full restore with fitment of a new 90 litre fuel tank, new shocks and springs, sway bars and the factory disc brakes have been restored.  

Showing a genuine 203,470 klm from new with log books, owners manual and two sets of keys. Originally sold by United Holden, Adelaide SA to Coca Cola, South Pacific out of Adelaide. The SS was the Operations Manager's personal vehicle at Coca Cola in Adelaide. This SS features working factory A/C, blue tooth Kenwood radio and power steering.  

A three owner car, the Commodore is riding on the VN SS alloy rims with near new 205/65R15 tyres. The original boot mat and spare wheel cover are also in the boot. Currently on NSW Historic registration. 

This SS Commodore drives as if it was just driven out of the showroom. A real beauty and great SS Commodore for the Holden enthusiast!
