1974 LEYLAND P76 EXECUTIVE P76 for sale
Price: $34,500
This Concours winning 1974 Leyland P76 Executive is a testament to the love and attention to detail of the previous 4 documented owners of this very rare and original P76. For sale from Sydney NSW.
Apart from a respray of the Bitter Apricot paintwork in 2010, it is in original condition, including the black cloth trim, original cassette player, floor mats, owner's manual and the factory fitted styled steering wheel which comes from the aborted Force Seven coupe version planned by Leyland.
The P76 has won first place at the 2012 P76 Nationals for the "Best Executive" model at the P76 club nationals meeting on the Sunshine Coast.
The P76 might have been the swansong for Leyland in Australia, but its good points tended to get lost among all the flack thrown around at the time. They appear to be well in evidence in this car. In immaculate condition throughout, this all matching numbers 143kW 4.4 Litre all aluminium V8 P76, has covered a genuine 123,812 km and is supplied with a huge documentation file including manuals, P76 original sales brochures, Leyland products literature, car show trophy and dealer folder.
In addition to the all aluminium V8, the P76 offered buyers a larger interior than the competition, a huge boot capable of holding a 44 gallon drum and more refined suspension than its competitors using a live-axle, coil-spring rear end and steered by a rack-and-pinion system at the front.
Originally owned by a worker at the Leyland plant, the car was optioned with all extras possible in the day. This includes the beautiful black cloth trim, Force 7V coupe steering wheel, power steering, auto powered side mirror and factory Leyland floor matts.
In the care of the 4th custodian for the last 6 years this car turns heads and is genuinely a museum quality example. Certainly, if you want the best P76, then this example will tick all your boxes.
Despite the P76's very short model life, its place in Australian auto history is well deserved and as a result P76s have become quite collectable of late.
Available for inspection in Cronulla, South Sydney. (Ref. 6378)
We can also arrange a video tour of the car using WhatsApp and of course there is no issue with door to door freight delivery anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.
