Only 405 HQ GTS Monaro Coupes were built with the Chevrolet 350 V8 engine, with just over a half fitted with the T-400 Automatic gearbox. In addition to the low build numbers, the HQ was GMH's final 81837 model making this one rare Lion.

Proudly presented for sale is this stunning ex. GMH Executive Chateau Mauve Metallic 350 GTS Monaro Coupe with factory Flax vinyl trim. A full matching numbers car, this HQ Monaro GTS is running the factory installed 350 Chevrolet V8 featuring the famous McKinnon block and bullet proof 3 speed T-400 automatic gearbox all packaged in what many believe to be the finest looking motor car ever made in Australia.

Delivered to GMH Employee Mr. P.C. Ward from the Fisherman's Bend GMH plant, this ex. GMH executive HQ GTS 350 is painted in the highly desirable Chateau Mauve Metallic with Flax trim combo and is factory optioned with Power Steering and AM radio. In the care of the current owner for more than 7 years, the HQ GTS has been repainted on the exterior with original paint in the door jambs, engine bay and boot. This is a damage and rust free example with only 107,093 miles travelled since new.

The interior is presented in the factory correct Flax Vinyl trim with new hood lining, door trims and carpets. The original steering wheel, working gauges and reconditioned AM radio and speaker are all still in their rightful places.

Under the bonnet, the Monaro features the rebuilt original matching numbers 350 engine modified with a mild cam, Holley carby, high rise manifold, performance heads, extractors and aftermarket air cleaner. The HQ is supplied with the original inlet and exhaust manifolds, air cleaner and 4BBL Rochester carby.

Open the boot and there is a original GTS spare with original boot mat and factory tools. The GTS is riding on 14" GTS rims with B F Goodrich 205/70R14 tyres on the front and 235/60R14s on the rear.

All body numbers and ID plates match and all compliance plates retain their factory rivets. The GTS has been lovingly appreciated by the current enthusiast owner and is in a excellent condition now ready for the next "custodian" to enjoy.
