Classic Speed Inc. have taken an American muscle car icon in the form of a Raven Black '66 Fastback A Code Mustang and RESTOMODED it with all the latest performance and luxury gear. Starting with a very solid A Code '66 Mustang Fastback, Classic Speed Inc was entrusted to build a custom nut and bolt rotisserie restored Restomod Mustang. The concept - to combine the classic good looks of the original shaped Mustang with advances in modern technology including engine, transmission, steering and braking. And all this fully engineered and mod plated for easy registration anywhere.

Ford got the good looks right with their design of the 1966 Mustang Fastback. So Classic Speed only had to carry out a full bare metal nut and bolt resto on the body finishing the Mustang in Raven Black 2 Pack paint with Shelby GT350 hood and side scoops.

With the running gear, Classic Speed opted for a new, high performance balanced and blueprinted 302/347 Windsor Stroker crate engine with flat top pistons, hydraulic roller camshaft, double row timing chain, CNC aluminium cylinder heads with oversized inlet and exhaust valves, a 4-barrel manifold matched to a 600 CFM Holley carburettor with MSD Electronic CDI ignition and Serpentine belt drive kit. An enlarged oil pan has been fitted and full length stainless steel headers are connected to a new 2 1/4'' performance exhaust system. A polished radiator with custom thermal clutch fan and custom aluminium fan shroud and Black finned Shelby insignia valve covers complete the picture.

Gone is the factory slushbox and in its place is a modern TKO600 5 speed manual gearbox with a custom made stainless shifter and a McLeod clutch. At the rear is Ford's bullet proof 9 inch limited slip differential with a 3.25:1 ratio. Braking has been upgraded from drums all round to 4 wheel disc brakes by Wilwood. And steering and suspension have been upgraded with Total Control TCP RCKP-52 right hand drive Rack & Pinion power steering, front coils and rear leaf springs with Koni shockers all round. There is a 1 1/8'' front sway bar and an adjustable 3/4'' rear sway bar and the Fastback has been lowered 1'' to be consistent with Shelby GT350 tuning.

On the inside Classic Speed have converted the Fastback to right hand drive, fitted a luxurious new black leather interior with stainless console and Shelby 6 pod Auto Meter gauges and a Mota-Lita Timber steering wheel. Also installed is a Hurricane air conditioning unit that replaces the original heater box and adds a modern high efficiency Air-Conditioner with heater/defroster. Other modern conveniences fitted include Halogen head lights, an immobiliser, door and boot release, Clarion NX501A multi function audio system with Sat Nav, blue tooth connectivity and a reverse camera, console mounted park brake and an under carpet hush mat.

A period correct styled wheel underscores the original external presentation with 16x7 Torque D American racing VN-105 rims fitted shod in Falken 245/50R16 tyres all round.

The result is that this stunning Restomod Fastback Mustang is a pleasure the drive and has won Best Interior, Best 1966 Mustang and Peoples Choice Awards at a number of car shows.
