1971 FORD FAIRMONT XY for sale
Price: $69,990
For sale is a genuine 1971 XY Ford Fairmont (as a GS Replica) with period-correct styling and a tough V8 heart.
Owned by the current owner for over 21 years (3rd owner). This car is a standout example of Australian muscle, ready for cruising, shows, or weekend runs.
Starting life as a genuine 6 cyl 250 Crossflow Fairmont, the car was diligently restored 10 years ago and is now powered by a mildly worked 302 Windsor V8 sourced from a ZD Fairlane, featuring a Stage 2 HeatSeeker camshaft, Holley 650 double pumper, C4 gearbox with quick shift kit, and a custom Hardy Spicer tailshaft and LSD diff (3.23.3 ratio).
The powertrain is supported by a custom-built Trick And Mansweto Racing cooling setup with twin Bosch 13" thermo fans, widened radiator shroud and the battery moved to the boot. A throaty rumble can be heard thanks to Lukey extractors, a dual 2.5-inch exhaust system leading to chrome 3-inch dumpers. A chrome air cleaner, rocker covers, and Edelbrock manifold complete the engine bay.
The car has also had a full bare metal respray in 2-Pac white with clear over base which brings this Fairmont's straight bodywork to life, complemented by gold GS and GT decal stripes, re-chromed bumpers, restored original moulds. The stance is just right, lowered 3 inches on King Springs for a tough street presence.
Inside, it has been refinished with new black loop carpet, perfectly maintained perforated leather headliner, a restored Fairmont steering wheel, and a modern B&M Mega Shifter in a repo GS console. As well as a restored dash instrument cluster (converted from Miles (mi) to Kilometers(km)) for worry free cruising. Premium touches include full sound deadening, Fusion speakers, and a Sony CD/MP3 player discreetly integrated into the period-correct interior. With remote central locking, alarm and immobiliser to keep the car secure. All glass has also been replaced with new Safety Glass. And finally, front seat belts have been replaced with brand new ADR approved seat belts for comfort and safe cruising.
Sitting on Cragar Rally wheels (16x8 rear and 15x6 at the front) wrapped in fresh Toyo tyres replaced early this year. It also has full custom "XYLER8" number plates on full NSW registration until July, 2026, this third-owner example of 21 years is a standout blend of old-school Aussie muscle.
Can be inspected at our showroom by appointment (Ref: 6697).
If you wish we will gladly arrange a video tour/inspection of the car using WhatsApp and of course there is no issue with door to door enclosed transport anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.
