For sale from Maitland, NSW is this stunning low mileage 1981 Ford XD Fairmont Ghia ESP 5.8L V8 presented in Sno White.
With the GT Falcon now long gone the XD Falcon range included the highly spec'd XD Fairmont Ghia ESP which really was a GT in sheep's clothing. This beast could be optioned with the Aussie manufactured 351 Cleveland V8, a choice of FMX automatic or 4 speed manual gearboxes, those super sexy Scheel sports seats and 15" Bathurst Globe wheels.
This rare to find XD Fairmont Ghia ESP has clocked up only 76,298 km from new. Originally ordered through Wright Ford/City Ford for the dealer principal, this XD drives strong and has been mechanically perfectly maintained. All matching numbers with that sweet sounding 351 Cleveland burbling along putting the power down through the fully serviced FMX gearbox and the mild sports dual exhaust that produces a lovely good old V8 burble.
The XD has been repainted approximately 10 years ago and has been used sparingly since. The body is rust and damage free. The interior is impressive being all day one and in exceptional condition from those wonderful wool blend tiger patterned cloth Scheel sports seats, door cards, hood lining and carpets.
The XD is optioned with dealer fitted Hollandia Steel Sunroof by Trad Trim and Sunroofs. This was installed on 23-12-1981 as per the sticker fitted in the engine bay. The XD ESP is also fitted with Ford branded air horns, fire extinguisher, working A/C (just re-gassed), power steering, power windows and radio/cassette player with working electric aerial. Excellent original boot carpet, original Uniroyal Wild Cat spare wheel and original set of tools. Riding on 15" Bathurst Globe wheels with brand new Nankang 225/60R15 rubber all round.
