1971 CHEVROLET CORVETTE C3 for sale
Price: $97,500
Impressive low mileage '71 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C3 Convertible featuring a 350ci small block V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission in Steel Cities Grey now available for sale at our Sydney Showroom.
In 1953 GM executives accepted a suggestion by Myron Scott, then the Assistant Director of the Chevrolet's Public Relations department, to name the company's new sports car after the Corvette, a small manoeuvrable warship. The first model designed by Harley Earl, a convertible, was introduced in 1953 followed by the second generation in 1963 in both coupe and convertible styles. The Corvette quickly became synonymous with freedom and adventure ultimately becoming the most successful concept car and the most popular sports car in US motoring history. It also very quickly became one of the most powerful sports cars offered for sale in the US.
The third generation Corvette, inspired by Larry Shinoda's XP-755 Mako Shark show car, was produced from 1968 to 1982. This model showcased American automotive excellence with a raft of powerful V8 engines, coupled to robust manual or automatic transmissions. The C3 offered a thrilling driving experience that embodied freedom and adventure, solidifying its status as a classic collector's item.
Available for purchase at our Sydney Showroom is this breath-taking Steel Cities Grey C3 Corvette Stingray, featuring factory original Black interior. It comes equipped with the original numbers-matching 350 small block engine and 4-speed manual transmission. This vehicle was personally imported from the US in 2011 and is one of just 1,591 convertibles produced with the combination of the 350ci engine and 4-speed manual gearbox. Finished in the rare and desirable Steel Cities Grey, a stunning two-year-only colour considered one of the most collectible colours of the era.
This C3 emerged from the St. Louis GM Assembly Plant on February 22, 1971, and has received exceptional care ever since. With just 13,347 miles recorded on the odometer in nearly 55 years, this amazing Corvette maintains all its original interior trim, carpet and components. The exterior has been refreshed with a mint external paint job, and the original engine, cylinder heads and Muncie gearbox have been refurbished, involving replacing gaskets and seals due to its remarkably low mileage.
The current owner also undertook a thorough undercarriage detail to meticulously clean the underside and verify its authentic mileage. Additionally, various serviceable items like brake lines and hoses have been replaced as needed.
The vehicle has undergone comprehensive mechanical servicing, which includes the replacement of fluids, hoses, master cylinder kit and brake pads. Additionally, it features a new Magnaflow exhaust system, AC Delco alternator, new wiper motor and vacuum canister.
This Corvette sits on its original 15x8" Rally rims with immaculate polished dress rings and is fitted with BF Goodrich T/A Radial tyres sized at 235/60R15 on the front and 255/60R15 on the rear.
This is truly a magnificent Corvette example, spectacular in its quality and presentation, almost impossible to replace anywhere in the world, and a superb American classic ready to adorn the fussiest Collector's garage or lounge room!
Located in our Sydney Showroom for your inspection. (Ref: 6619)
If you wish, we will gladly arrange a video tour of the car using WhatsApp and of course there is no issue with door to door freight delivery anywhere in Australia or New Zealand.
